Google Public Sector launched Gemini for government services in private preview on October 20, 2026, during its summit in Washington D.C. The company also announced Wiz security agents within Wiz for Gov and enterprise search features for air-gapped deployments on Google Distributed Cloud.

Gemini for government services

Google Public Sector introduced Gemini for government services in private preview, a platform designed for the security, governance, and workflow requirements of public sector organizations. The tool connects pre-built partner agents and deterministic skills directly to existing case management, ERP, and collaboration systems without requiring agencies to migrate sensitive data.

The company stated that civil servants can use the tool to automate tasks such as public records requests, document intake validation, expense auditing, and policy research using citations grounded in federal regulatory sources. Google Public Sector also cited survey data with theCUBE and ECI Research showing that 96.3% of surveyed agencies have deployed AI agents in some form, but only 9% have achieved agency-wide adoption.

Security and Post-Quantum Cryptography

Wiz Red, Green, and Blue agents are now available within Wiz for Gov, a FedRAMP Class D High certified environment. Google Public Sector said the Wiz Green Agent assists with Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) readiness by analyzing assets for quantum vulnerabilities and assessing Harvest Now, Decrypt Later (HNDL) exposure using cryptographic visibility from code to runtime in Wiz AI-APP.

Wiz and Google DeepMind also launched Scan for Good, a program using the Wiz Red Agent, Gemini 4 Argon, and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber to offer no-cost security assessments for eligible public services and critical infrastructure. Additionally, Wiz is expanding capabilities for FedRAMP Vulnerability Detection and Response rulesets using metrics such as Potential Agency Impact (PAIN), Likely Exploitability Validation (LEV), and Internet Reachability Validation (IRV).

Air-gapped search and public sector adoption

Google announced enterprise search capabilities for Gemini on Google Distributed Cloud for air-gapped deployments used by defense, intelligence, and national security agencies. The disconnected setup supports Gemini 3.5 Flash models, Gemma open models, and generally available NVIDIA Blackwell B300 GPUs to query and summarize records locally.

Google Public Sector highlighted deployments across several public sector entities, including the Department of War providing 3 million personnel access to a secure platform using Gemini and Agent Designer. Other partners utilizing Google technologies include America.gov, SUNY, the Department of Energy's Genesis Mission, the U.S. Army's Strategic Capital Initiative in partnership with FedEx, and Case Western Reserve University.
