On October 19, 2026, Motive launched Agents, a new system powered by Motive AI designed to continuously monitor and automate physical operations workflows for fleets.

Automating Fleet Operations

Motive introduced Agents to help organizations handle alerts, safety events, and maintenance issues automatically. According to Motive, organizations lose $46 billion to preventable downtime, compliance violations, and idling.

Additionally, 42% of surveyed organizations in Motive's 2026 ROI Report name operational inefficiency, including excess admin work, as a top concern.

Capabilities and Future Updates

Today, users can define conditions and actions for Agents to watch operations continuously and notify the right person via email, SMS, app alerts, or in-cab voice messages. Later this year, Agents will reach drivers through voice agent outreach on AI Dashcam Plus.

Motive stated that in early 2027, users will be able to start from a goal described in plain language or select from a library of Motive-built Agents ready to run without configuration.

Addressing Safety and Maintenance Risks

Agents can detect driver fatigue, severe weather, maintenance issues, and excessive idling. Motive's assistant, Atlas, can call drivers and safety managers through AI Dashcam Plus to check on fatigue, recommend alternate routes during storms, or explain critical fault codes.

For maintenance issues, Agents can automatically create work orders and mark vehicles out of service when fault codes meet specified criteria.
