DigitalOcean released Signals in Public Preview on October 23, 2026. The new tool monitors production conversations on DigitalOcean Managed Agents and Inference Engines to generate structured behavioral signals.
Behavioral Monitoring Layers
DigitalOcean announced that Signals watches production conversations with consent and turns them into structured behavioral signals. The platform evaluates interactions across three layers including interaction, execution, and environment.
According to DigitalOcean, Signals detects 25 signal types across seven categories. Every signal points to the exact step in the conversation that produced it.
System Requirements and Setup
DigitalOcean stated that Signals is off by default and can be enabled per environment. Users require doctl 1.181.0 or later and a token with the signals:query and signals:update scopes.
To enable Signals from the command line, users can run doctl signals consent set with the specified agent ID and enabled status. Alternatively, it can be activated in the Control Panel by opening the Signals tab on the Harness Runtime page.
What to do
- Enable Signals for an environment by opening the Signals tab on the Harness Runtime page in the Control Panel, selecting the environment, and switching the toggle on, or run the command line instruction doctl signals consent set –agent-id <agent-id> –enabled=true.
