On October 27, 2026, AMD announced an expanded strategic partnership with Meta to power the company's AI infrastructure with AMD Helios rackscale solutions, EPYC processors, and Instinct GPUs.

Infrastructure Deployments and Hardware

AMD announced that its Helios rackscale solutions are running at Meta as part of an expanded strategic partnership. Initial AMD Helios rackscale solutions are installed and being tested by Meta on the path to a broader deployment in the near future.

Meta has deployed millions of AMD EPYC processors across multiple generations to support the dedicated computing environments behind its Muse personal AI agent. The companies are also collaborating on future generations, including Verano, with Meta serving as a lead customer for 6th Gen EPYC CPUs.

GPU Architecture and Software Integration

According to AMD, its Instinct GPUs are currently used in production in Meta's infrastructure for training, ranking, and recommendation engines. Meta was an early definition customer for the AMD Instinct MI450 architecture and will deploy a custom AMD Instinct GPU optimized for its workloads, while collaborating on future platforms like the MI500 series.

The two companies have worked together to advance ROCm through PyTorch, delivering Day-0 support for Meta's Muse Spark Open models on AMD Instinct GPUs and Muse Glimmer on AMD Ryzen AI PCs and Radeon GPUs. The software collaboration also extends to large-scale AI training and optimizing recommendation models on AMD Instinct MI350X GPUs.

Leadership Perspectives and Equity Investment

AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su stated that the partnership is reaching a new scale in the superintelligence era, with infrastructure being deployed at gigawatt scale. Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg noted that AMD has been a key partner in building out the compute running their frontier models.

In addition to technical collaborations spanning silicon, software, and systems, AMD announced that it will invest $1 billion in Meta's equity offering.
