CISA added the WordPress Core vulnerability to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on November 3, 2026, with a federal remediation deadline of November 6, 2026.

CVE-2026-119977, CVSS 8.1 High, US federal deadline November 6, 2026, CISA KEV

The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) added CVE-2026-119977, a WordPress WordPress Core Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition Vulnerability, to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog on November 3, 2026. CISA adds a flaw to the catalog when it has reliable evidence that attackers are exploiting it in the wild.

What CISA says

WordPress WordPress Core contains a time-of-check time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition vulnerability that could allow unauthenticated attackers to execute code on the server during the upgrade window. This is due to predictable, web-accessible staging paths used during full-package core upgrades.
