Funding Details
Samsung Electronics led the Series D round, with co-leads Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, and existing investor PSG Equity. The company stated that the round is the largest equity fundraising round ever completed by a European technology company three years after its launch.
The round also brought in new investors including Advent, funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Existing investors such as a16z, ASML, NVIDIA, and Salesforce Ventures participated in the round as well.
Expansion and Strategy
Mistral stated that the funding will significantly expand its frontier research, which serves as the foundation for its infrastructure, products, and sovereignty. The investment will allow the company to scale its compute capacity for training powerful models, expand infrastructure, and accelerate commercial growth.
Mistral currently operates across 20 countries and supports more than 125 global enterprises, including Airbus, ASML, and HSBC. The company builds open-weight models, infrastructure, compute capacity, and products designed to provide organizations with control over data, models, and compute.
