You can export and download your data for the Google products you use to keep records or transfer to another service. Google provides step-by-step instructions for this process.
What it does
Google Takeout allows you to export and download data for the Google products you use, such as email, documents, calendar, photos, and YouTube videos. Creating an archive lets you keep your records or transfer your data to another service without deleting it from Google's servers.
Before you start
Google notes that if your actions seem risky, your actions may be delayed or unavailable to protect your account. Additionally, if you are enrolled in the Advanced Protection Program, your archive will be scheduled for two days in the future and scheduled exports are not available.
Steps
Step 1: Log into your Google Account and go to the Google Takeout page where products holding your data are automatically selected. Uncheck boxes beside products you do not want to download, or select options like All data included to choose specific data, then select Next step.
Step 2: Customize your archive format by choosing a delivery method such as sending a download link via email, adding to Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, or Box. Select your export type, file type, and maximum archive size, then complete the export process.
What the company says
Google explains that when your archive reaches a third-party cloud service like Microsoft OneDrive or Box, Google is no longer responsible for it and the archive will be governed by that provider's terms and policies.
