At the 2026 OCP Global Summit on October 15, 2026, Midea's brand Clivet unveiled its next-generation magnetic-bearing centrifugal compressor and full-chain liquid cooling solution. The presentation introduced architectural innovations for AI data center thermal management.
Next-Gen Cooling Architecture
Clivet presented its cooling technology at the GW-Scale Open AIDC forum during the 2026 OCP Global Summit. According to the company, the design combines independent dual-shaft variable-speed drives with selectable single- and two-stage operation to address wide-range efficiency, smooth mode transitions, and compact integration.
The system aims to tackle technical challenges in data center cooling as cold-plate supply temperatures rise toward 45°C. The architecture prioritizes free cooling while maintaining mechanical-cooling backup.
Performance and Ecosystem Integration
The company stated that compressor power can be reduced by up to 40%, while maximum inlet flow at low pressure ratios increases by approximately 70%. Single-stage startup and preconditioning are designed to enable smooth mode transitions and eliminate cooling interruptions.
During the event, Clivet received the 2026 GW-Scale Open AIDC Excellent Technical Presentation Award. Additionally, Midea appeared in the NVIDIA MGX ecosystem's participating company list.
