Expanding Robotic Tiling
Human Friendly Robotics announced a three-year, $3.55 million robotic tiling contract with Foley Tile on October 22, 2026. Led by Jerry Foley and Brent Foley, the Tucson, Arizona contractor will deploy HFR's Tyler robots alongside its installers in Arizona and beyond.
Foley Tile previously previewed Tyler's pilot work at Plaza Las Américas in San Juan, Puerto Rico. According to the company, the robot and crew achieved eight times the human benchmark pace during the pilot.
Addressing Workforce Constraints
Human Friendly Robotics CEO Shamoon Siddiqui stated that construction faces a shrinking workforce and backbreaking labor, noting that Tyler multiplies output and reduces fatigue. The company cites data showing 42% of AGC and NCCER surveyed construction firms reported project delays due to worker shortages.
Tyler handles repetitive placement tasks like kneeling, bending, and lifting while installers manage cuts, edges, finishing, and quality control. The robot requires no technology background to operate and has worked jobsites in New York, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico.
