Ericsson announced a simplification of its Group structure and changes to its Executive Team on October 15, 2026. The company stated the changes are intended to create a structure where research and development capabilities are increasingly leveraged.
New Market Area APAC
According to Ericsson, a new Market Area Asia-Pacific (APAC) will be established from January 1, 2027. This unit combines the current Market Areas North East Asia and South East Asia, Oceania and India.
Patrick Johansson was appointed Head of Market Area APAC and will continue as a member of the Executive Team. Johansson currently serves as Head of Market Area Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Ericsson stated that a recruitment process to appoint a replacement will be initiated.
Enterprise Wireless Solutions Portfolio
Ericsson announced that the current portfolio of Business Area Enterprise Wireless Solutions (BEWS) will be moved to other parts of the company. Neutral Host solutions and Ericsson Private 5G will move into Business Area Networks.
Wireless WAN solutions will remain a standalone business and report to Yossi Cohen, Head of Market Area Americas. Åsa Tamsons, Head of Business Area Enterprise Wireless Solutions, will support the integration before transitioning from her position on December 31, 2026.
Executive Team Departures and Transitions
In addition to Åsa Tamsons, Chafic Nassif and Andres Vicente will transition from their current positions on the Executive Team on December 31, 2026. Nassif currently serves as Head of Market Area North East Asia, while Vicente serves as Head of Market Area South East Asia, Oceania and India.
President and CEO Per Narvinger stated that the changes will result in a leaner and more balanced Executive team. The departing executives will support the formation of the new group structure through the end of the year.
