BreakingWordPress Core flaw CVE-2026-87902 is being actively exploited, CISA warns

CISA added the WordPress Core vulnerability to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on September 25, 2026, with a federal remediation deadline of September 28, 2026.

The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) added CVE-2026-87902, a WordPress Core Remote File Inclusion Vulnerability, to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog on September 25, 2026. CISA adds a flaw to the catalog when it has reliable evidence that attackers are exploiting it in the wild.

WordPress Core contains a remote file inclusion vulnerability which could allow an unauthenticated attacker to make page-template resolution include a chosen readable local `.php` file outside the active theme directories, leading to remote code execution.
