SAP announced a new embedded payment offering called SAP Pay, alongside new enterprise consolidation capabilities and an expanded suite of Joule AI assistants, at the SAP Connect event in 2026.
Embedded payments through SAP Pay
SAP Pay embeds payment execution directly into SAP Cloud ERP, allowing organizations to process payments and handle reconciliation within the same business workflow once an invoice is approved.
The rollout marks SAP's direct entry into payment services through Tereina, a wholly owned subsidiary established earlier in 2026 that functions as a regulated payment-service provider. SAP said this setup allows it to provide native payment execution rather than relying entirely on third-party integrations.
The payment service supports electronic funds transfers, wire transfers, checks, and cross-border settlement using stablecoins. SAP Pay is currently generally available in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Enterprise financial consolidation
SAP also introduced SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation, a tool built on SAP Business Data Cloud designed to combine statutory and management consolidation with financial close and disclosure processes.
The vendor stated that the solution works across mixed IT environments containing both SAP and non-SAP software by ingesting data from multiple sources. It also includes Joule Assistants targeted at consolidation workflows to detect anomalies and prepare disclosures.
According to SAP, the Early Adopter Care program for SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
Expanded Joule AI assistants
SAP expanded its collection of Joule Assistants to handle specific finance and compliance workflows, including revenue recognition, accounting, pricing decisions, project execution, and disclosure management.
The company also introduced dedicated governance, security, and compliance assistants to manage access and enforce oversight on automated digital agents operating alongside human workers.
SAP reported that general availability for both its Governance Assistant and International Trade Assistant is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
