On October 22, 2026, Google Cloud announced the preview launch of self-learning context enrichment and a reimagined Knowledge Studio for its Knowledge Catalog. The new features are designed to help enterprise AI agents maintain accurate and current business context.

What Changed

Google Cloud announced the launch of self-learning context enrichment and a reimagined Knowledge Studio experience in preview for Knowledge Catalog, its context engine for agents. Built on Gemini-powered enrichment, the system analyzes agent and user interactions to find gaps and keep business context current.

According to Google Cloud, Knowledge Studio serves as a command center where context engineers and data stewards can explore data conversationally and navigate a visual context graph. Stewards can review proposed changes before publishing them to users and agents.

Technical Capabilities and Performance

The enrichment capability connects to structured and unstructured data across sources including Cloud Storage, Google Workspace, GitHub, Confluence, and SharePoint. It extracts and maintains business knowledge, linking unstructured sources to structured metadata in Knowledge Catalog.

Google Cloud stated that internal benchmarks show Knowledge Catalog makes AI agents nearly 4X more accurate, with up to 33% lower latency and up to 75% fewer tokens. Additionally, context sets allow organizations to curate governed subsets of the context graph for specific teams or agents.

Governance and Availability

Administrators can configure auto-publishing thresholds or route updates below a set confidence score and deletions to change requests for manual approval. Google Cloud noted that context sets build on the Open Knowledge Format, allowing users to import and export context bundles.

Google Cloud stated that these features will roll out to customers in the next few weeks.
