Flexcompute announced on October 12, 2026, that it has raised a strategic investment from Samsung Ventures and Applied Ventures to accelerate its Physics World Model. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Scaling Physics-Based AI
Flexcompute announced strategic investment from Samsung Ventures and Applied Ventures, LLC, the venture capital arm of Applied Materials, Inc., on October 12, 2026. The Boston-based physics company stated that the funding will accelerate its work on the Physics World Model, an artificial intelligence designed to predict how designs behave in the real world by learning the laws of physics.
A representative of Samsung Ventures stated that the technology will shape how the next generation of hardware is developed. Yu Cao, Chief AI Officer of Applied Materials, added that the simulation is fast enough to keep pace with AI and rigorous enough for production decisions.
Technology and Applications
Flexcompute's team of more than 70 PhDs has built computational fluid dynamics (CFD), electromagnetic, structural, and thermal solvers from the ground up on GPUs. Through Tokenized Physics, the company integrates neural networks and first-principles physics directly into its models to ensure predictions obey conservation laws.
Customers currently access the technology through Physics Twins, allowing engineers and AI agents to test and optimize products before construction. Engineering teams at more than 250 companies across aerospace, automotive, semiconductors, photonics, and advanced manufacturing utilize the platform. Flexcompute plans to use the new investment to grow its research team, scale GPU compute, and extend the model across fluids, electromagnetics, structures, heat, and multiphysics couplings.
