Amazon said on September 28, 2026 that Amazon Web Services, the women-in-tech nonprofit Laboratoria and Shakira's Fundación Pies Descalzos are launching AWS Entrena Latinas, a free Spanish-language cloud computing and AI training program across Latin America. The initiative was announced as part of a broader music and commerce campaign built around a global livestream of the singer's Madrid concert.
The technology parts of a wider music announcement
Most of Amazon's announcement concerns entertainment and retail: a livestream of Shakira's Madrid show, an Amazon Music Original remix, an exclusive vinyl edition and curated playlists, all framed as part of The Women Shaping Latin Music, the 2026 edition of the company's annual Music Connects Us program.
Two elements are technology initiatives: the AWS Entrena Latinas skills program, and an interactive exhibit at the singer's Madrid residency that Amazon said is guided by Alexa+, which the company describes as the next generation of Alexa.
What AWS Entrena Latinas offers
According to Amazon, the program expands access to technology skills across Latin America through free training in cloud computing and AI delivered entirely in Spanish, building on Shakira's education work through Fundación Pies Descalzos.
The company said the goal is to reach 1 million women by 2028, and that the effort is aimed at driving toward 50% female participation in a field where, by Amazon's account, women hold only 26% of tech roles.
The rollout starts in Colombia, where Amazon said students and mothers connected to Fundación Pies Descalzos will be able to take foundational courses and pursue AWS AI certifications. Amazon said the program will also have an on-site presence at the Madrid festival.
Livestream distribution and Alexa+
Amazon said the concert from the final stop of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour at the ES Latina European Residency in Madrid will air live globally on Saturday, October 3, in what the company called her first full concert global livestream.
The stream will be available on the Amazon Music app, Prime Video, the Amazon Music app on Fire TV and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, with no subscription required, Amazon said. Listed start times include 11:45 AM PT / 2:45 PM ET in the United States, 7:45 PM BST in the UK, 8:45 PM CEST in Madrid and 12:15 AM IST in India on October 4.
At the Madrid residency, Amazon said the interactive exhibit El Museo Shakira by Amazon Music is guided by Alexa+ and lets visitors move through spaces tracing the artist's milestones in music, fashion, culture and social impact.
Company claims on listening data
Amazon said that on Amazon Music, "Dai Dai" is the No. 1 song worldwide in 2026 year to date and that Shakira is the most-listened-to Latina artist worldwide over the same period. Those figures are the company's own platform statistics and were not independently verified.
