Vercel announced on October 9, 2026, that billing for Deployment Storage and Functions Storage will begin for all existing Pro teams at a rate of $0.10 per GB-month. Alongside the pricing change, the platform is introducing a 30-day deployment retention window.
Pricing and Retention Changes
According to Vercel, Deployment Storage and Functions Storage billing will start for all Pro teams at $0.10 per GB-month. Teams can check their email for specific details regarding when billing will begin for their team.
To help manage costs, Vercel is changing the deployment retention window to 30 days. Deployments older than 30 days will be deleted starting October 23 unless users opt out in their retention settings beforehand, while retention settings already at 30 days or shorter remain unchanged.
Managing Storage and Optimization
Vercel stated that users can control retention periods for Pre-Production, Production, Canceled, and Errored deployments using a Deployment Retention Policy. Shorter periods reduce stored history, and deleted deployments cannot be used for rollback. Usage can be tracked per project on the Usage page.
To reduce future deployment sizes, Vercel recommends removing unnecessary build files, moving large assets to Vercel Blob, and shrinking Function bundles.
