United Airlines announced on October 15, 2026, that Starlink Wi-Fi is now active on more than 635 aircraft, covering nearly half of its daily departures.
Rollout progress across the fleet
United stated that Starlink is currently active on more than 635 mainline and United Express aircraft. The carrier said it installs the satellite connectivity system on roughly 20 aircraft each week, with a target to finish installations across its fleet by the end of 2027.
According to the airline, an average of more than 250,000 passengers fly on Starlink-equipped planes each day across more than 2,500 flights. United reported that it has flown more than 37.7 million passengers across more than 538,000 flights using the service, powering 14 million devices.
New flight tracking tool
The airline launched a dedicated website, StarlinkTracker.United.com, allowing travelers to check whether upcoming flights feature Starlink. Passengers can enter travel dates and flight numbers within three days of departure, with updates reflecting last-minute aircraft changes.
The digital dashboard also displays installation statistics by aircraft type across regional, narrowbody, and widebody models, alongside flight availability percentages across United hubs including Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.
Promotional campaign extended
United also extended its "Switch to Better Wi-Fi" status match promotion to October 22. The program allows eligible Delta SkyMiles and American AAdvantage members to earn United Premier status through January 2028 by meeting specific spending thresholds and flying within 90 days.
Andrew Nocella, United's Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated that customer feedback and response to the promotion demonstrated strong demand for the satellite service.
