Threekit on October 1, 2026 announced the launch of Threekit AI-Native CPQ, a configure-price-quote platform the Chicago-based company says it built from the ground up for AI and for the way manufacturers and B2B companies sell today.
What Threekit announced
Threekit said the product lets reps, dealers, customers and websites quote complex products "as easily as having a conversation." According to the announcement, the company comes from the team behind BigMachines, now Oracle CPQ, and SteelBrick, now Salesforce CPQ.
Rather than moving a user through a predetermined path, the company said, the user tells Threekit what they are trying to accomplish. Threekit then interprets the request, performs what it calls a Needs Analysis, recommends a solution and checks it against the manufacturer's products, pricing and business rules.
The company described the result as CPQ that is dynamic and conversational on the front end while remaining governed by the company's product catalog and rules underneath.
The problem the company says it is addressing
Threekit argued that traditional CPQ assumes users already know the exact requirements, products and options needed to complete an order, which works for trained expert users entering orders but not when the buyer or seller does not know exactly what to order.
In the company's description, that gap means reps and dealers rely on product experts to translate customer needs into the right configuration, quotes move through multiple handoffs, and inputs such as photos, voice notes, specifications and RFPs do not naturally fit into a fixed configuration flow. Threekit also said traditional CPQ largely never made it to the web because it was built for trained internal users.
"We built the last generation of CPQ. We know exactly where it breaks," said Matt Gorniak, CEO at Threekit. He added that the company started over with AI at the core so a rep, a dealer or a customer can describe what they need and get to a valid solution.
Website agents and dealer workflows
Threekit said the same intelligence used by sales reps can run directly on a manufacturer's website, helping customers understand what fits their needs, configure a product and reach a quote-ready solution through an AI sales agent, so the website can do the work of a knowledgeable sales rep instead of showing a static catalog or lead form.
For dealers and reps, the company said users can supply a specification, photo, voice note, RFP or project description, and the system can turn that into a valid product recommendation and quote.
Customer claims and context
The company said one leading window and door manufacturer doubled its leads after launching a Threekit-powered buying experience on its website, and that a leading commercial plumbing manufacturer now produces quotes four times faster using Threekit. Neither customer was named, and the figures are the vendor's claims.
Threekit said it is trusted by more than 150 companies, including Bobcat, Owens Corning, Steelcase, Fortune Brands, Assa Abbloy and A-dec, and that it is headquartered in Chicago.
In support of its argument, the press release cited a 2024 McKinsey B2B Pulse Survey of 4000 B2B decision makers, quoting the finding: "More than half of our survey respondents say they are likely to turn elsewhere if they don't have a smooth experience across channels."
