Sony Electronics stated that the flagship NW-WM1ZM3 is built around a 99.99% purity oxygen-free copper main and rear chassis. The company noted that the model features low-resistance gold-plated screws and thick KIMBER KABLE wiring designed to reduce noise and preserve signal integrity.
The NW-WM1AM3 and NW-ZX900 models combine an aluminum-alloy main chassis with a gold-plated oxygen-free copper rear chassis. Additionally, Sony stated that the NW-WM1ZM3 and NW-WM1AM3 replace the previous single large solid high-polymer capacitor with dual capacitors for cleaner power.
Sound Processing and Battery Life
All three media players include S-Master HX digital amplifier technology and the DSD Remastering Engine, which resamples PCM audio into an 11.2MHz DSD ultra-high-frequency stream. Sony updated the DSD Remastering Engine so users can enjoy it whether music is streamed over Wi-Fi or downloaded.
Battery life reaches up to 35 hours of 128kbps MP3 playback for the NW-WM1ZM3 and NW-WM1AM3, and up to 40 hours for the NW-ZX900. The NW-WM1ZM3 and NW-WM1AM3 feature 5.5-inch screens, while the NW-ZX900 includes a 5-inch screen.
