Leidos said on Oct. 1, 2026 that Jeff McElfresh, chief operating officer of AT&T, has joined its board of directors effective the same day. The Reston, Virginia-based company said the appointment brings its board to 11 members.

In a press release filed as an exhibit with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) said McElfresh's appointment to its board took effect Oct. 1.
The company said he will serve on the board's Corporate Governance and Ethics committee and its Technology and Information Security committee.
Leidos described the appointment as the addition of another excellent leader with success developing and deploying advanced technologies at scale in commercial and public sector markets.
McElfresh's background, as described by Leidos
According to the release, McElfresh's career at AT&T (NYSE: T) spans more than 30 years. Leidos said he currently oversees AT&T's $250 billion nationwide advanced connectivity infrastructure transformation, expertise the company said aligns with its core digital work and expanding energy infrastructure business.
Leidos also said that in prior roles McElfresh oversaw AT&T's cybersecurity, data management and labs, and that before joining AT&T he began his career as a defense tech engineer on aerospace and maritime projects.
