HKPF Warns Public of Fake eTraffic Ticket Phishing Sites

The Hong Kong Police Force announced on October 6, 2026, that fraudulent websites are impersonating the official eTraffic Ticket Platform to steal credit card and personal data.

Fraudulent Phishing Campaigns

According to the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF), fraudulent websites purporting to be the eTraffic Ticket Platform have been identified. These sites falsely claim that discounts are available for early fine payment to deceive members of the public into providing their credit card information and personal data.

The HKPF stressed that no discounts are offered for the payment of traffic ticket fines. The official website of the Platform is https://www.etrafficticket.gov.hk.

Official Communication Guidelines

The HKPF stated that all electronic Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) SMS messages will only be issued under the sender name "#HKPF-eTT". FPNs sent via SMS messages or email will never contain any hyperlinks.

Individuals may enter the vehicle registration mark and the FPN number to verify the details of an FPN on the official platform, including the date, time and location of the offence.

  • Do not click on any hyperlinks, log in to suspicious websites, or provide any personal information when receiving SMS messages or social media messages from unknown sources.
  • Dial 18222 to contact Anti-Deception Coordination Centre officers if you have provided personal information to fraudulent websites.
  • Call 181 181 for any enquiries regarding the Platform.
