On October 16, 2026, Aignostics announced the launch of HETA Clinical, a new suite of pan-cancer artificial intelligence products designed to assist pathology workflows from intake to molecular testing.
The initial product lineup
The HETA Clinical family launches with four initial products that evaluate whole slide hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) images. HETA Quality Control assesses slide quality prior to analysis to detect quality issues, while HETA Tumor Detect flags potential tumor presence at scanning and annotates tumor regions to help labs prioritize reading and order additional stains early.
The remaining two tools address cellular metrics. HETA Mitosis provides reproducible mitotic counts, and HETA Tumor Cellularity measures tumor cell content while recommending sample regions that contain sufficient tumor material for molecular testing.
Workflow bottlenecks and clinical targets
Aignostics stated that visual estimations by eye are time-consuming and prone to variation across different observers. According to the company, pathologists at precision medicine laboratories and academic medical centers estimate that 10 to 20 percent of molecular tests fail because tissue samples lack sufficient tumor content, resulting in delays and repeat biopsies.
The company stated that the tools are intended for research use only and are not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Underlying platform and integrations
All four tools are built on HETA, formerly named Atlas H&E-TME, which serves as Aignostics' core pan-cancer platform for spatial H&E tissue analysis. The company claimed that a recent study demonstrated cell classification by HETA matched or exceeded that of expert pathologists.
Aignostics indicated that further HETA Clinical tools will be released over time and integrated into image management systems, including Techcyte Fusion AP.
