Amazon Web Services said on October 2, 2026 that AWS Health has introduced a version catalog, a centralized source of lifecycle information for software versions across AWS services. The company said it is available now in the AWS Health Dashboard.
What changed
AWS said the version catalog gives customers a service-wide view of supported versions and their timelines, rather than only account-specific notifications.
According to AWS, the feature is designed to help customers "move from reactive to proactive management of version upgrades and end-of-support risk", so they can build upgrade schedules and governance controls and move to newer supported versions before receiving an account-specific Planned Lifecycle Event.
How it fits with existing alerts
AWS said AWS Health already sends account and resource-specific Planned Lifecycle Events well in advance of major version end-of-support milestones.
The company framed the catalog as an addition to those alerts, arguing that customers running applications on AWS need to stay current with software versions to maintain a strong security and operational posture.
Coverage and access
At launch, AWS said the catalog covers multiple AWS services including Amazon RDS, Amazon EKS and AWS Lambda, with more services being added over time. It is available across all AWS Commercial Regions.
Customers on Business Support Plus, Enterprise Support or Unified Operations can use the AWS Health API to integrate lifecycle data into their operational workflows, according to the company.
What to do
- Open the version catalog in the AWS Health Dashboard, or read the AWS documentation, to get started, as AWS recommends.
